Working. Seriously.

So here’s my belated author update.

I’m trying to do all the things simultaneously and it’s kinda glorious.

First priority goes to editing To Free the Wind, the second book in my new True Dawn series. It goes like this. I’ve written the rough draft, and I’m going over it chapter by chapter, refining it. As I finish each chapter, I call my friend/beta reader/editor/co-conspirator/assistant world-builder and I read it out loud to her. So fun. In fact…

It’s so fun to read to her that we’re going to record me reading to her, complete with her reactions, and post it on a Patreon.

Which means I have to actually do something with the Patreon page that I started forever ago and did absolutely nothing with to date.

Also, I have a list of equipment for making the recordings awesome. I’ll probably also need a good tea supply, and possibly wine, though this will definitely NOT be a drunken reading. Not my style, and besides, alcohol makes most people sound like crud. It’s not the sort of thing I’d want to be immortalized.

Since we’re doing all of this work, we’ll have bonus stuff like creature features, magic and astronomy talks, interviews with experts in fabric arts, fighting, metallurgy and stuff, and sometimes we’re just going to gossip about the characters in the books.

Will we do this for the Lord Jester’s Legacy and The Poisoned Past trilogies? Why yes, yes we will.

So that’s what I’ve been doing most of the time. The rest of the time is not generally spent sleeping. I guess that’s why I’m a little tired, but still I’m like the baby hummingbirds in my garden. We’re excited to flit around and chase each other and do and see all of the things, because life is amazing. It’s amazing even when it’s hard. Maybe sometimes in part because it can be hard.

I’ll introduce Melissa (Melissa!) later.

Thanks for reading!

Fortunately I get a lot of help when I’m writing.
